Pabna Textile Engineering College is one of reputed engineering educational institutes in Bangladesh and operates under the faculty of Engineering & Technology of University of Rajshahi.

It is a Government run Organization Under Ministry of Jute and Textile and course curriculum is run by University of Rajshahi British Government established Weaving School in 1925 which is now modified to Pabna Textile Engineering College 25 jun 1926 Governor of British Government visited Weaving School.In 1980 Government of that time Changed it's name to District Textile Institute In 1993-1994 it's name changed to Diploma in Textile Technology Finally 17 march 2007 new door opened by inaugurating Pabna Textile Engineering College by Secretary Md. Abdur Rashid Sharkar of ministry of Jute and Textile of Bangladesh Government.
In order meet the challenge of increasing demand of new sophisticated and latest technology, Govt. decided to upgrade this institution yo B.Sc. in textile engineering college. in 2006 to offer four(4)years bachelor degree in textile engineering by affiliation with the UNIVERSITY OF RAJSHAHI. Then renamed it as PABNA TEXTILE ENGINEERING COLLEGE Now 240 students of different years are studying in textile engineering course with satisfaction. Latest machinaries of different laboratories and textile related books in our library help the students to acquire knowledge of modern technology worthily.

Eligibility for admission test applicant:
Applicant must be permanent citizen of Bangladesh.
Applicant must be from science background having minimum GPA 4.0 (without fourth subject) in S.S.C or equivalent and minimum GPA 4.0 (without fourth subject) in H.S.C or equivalent exam. Applicant must have average GP 4.0 and individually GP 3.5 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at H.S.C or equivalent level.
GEC holder applicant must have average B grade in 5 subjects in O Level and secure average B-grade in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the A Level but D grade is not accepted.
Students who pass H.S.C or equivalent in 2009 are eligible for apply.
